About the Role
Greyhound Australia has created a new role to support the efficient and effective rostering and scheduling of our Coach Captains across Australia.
We are seeking an experienced and operationally focused Rostering & Scheduling Supervisor to take ownership of our centralised fortnightly rostering and scheduling function.
Acting as a key conduit between Regional Depots, Operations, People & Culture, and Compliance, this role is critical in ensuring daily service delivery through effective rostering, proactive workforce planning, and strong stakeholder engagement. Your ability to build positive relationships with our Coach Captains and operational leaders will be essential to your success.
This is a hands-on role focused on managing operational coverage, anticipating staffing gaps, and ensuring Coach Captains are positioned to meet business requirements across the network.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the centralised roster to ensure full operational coverage across the national network
Work closely with Depot Supervisors to confirm daily and forward staffing requirements
Identify and resolve coverage gaps in a timely manner to minimise operational disruption
Ensure all scheduling activities comply with Enterprise Agreements, legislation, fatigue management requirements, and company policies
Maintain accurate audit trails and rostering records
Communicate effectively with Coach Captains regarding roster changes and compliance obligations
Ensure scheduling practices align with NHVR and company compliance requirements
Maintain and update transport management systems and workforce records
Coordinate with Depot Supervisors to ensure Coach Captain route training and route surveys are completed in line with operational requirements
Monitor roster performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and service delivery
Maintain clear communication with the Operations Team regarding operational risks, coverage issues, and workforce performance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience in rostering, scheduling, workforce planning, or transport/logistics operations
Strong understanding of operational environments with a focus on service delivery outcomes
The ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced operational environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to lead, influence, and support operational teams
High levels of organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability
Strong understanding of fatigue management requirements (AFM knowledge highly regarded)
Confidence using transport management systems and general computer software
