About the Role

Reporting to the National Fleet and Workshop Manager, you’ll lead and support a team of mechanics and trade assistants, ensuring the highest standards in vehicle maintenance, safety, and team performance.

In this leadership-focused role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Supervising a skilled workshop team

  • Allocating and prioritising daily maintenance and repair tasks

  • Upholding compliance with safety and quality standards

  • Providing technical support and responding to breakdowns

  • Overseeing mechanical/electrical diagnostics and repairs

  • Managing workshop documentation and spare parts usage

  • Acting as leave cover for the National Fleet and Workshop Manager

  • Ensuring all Greyhound coaches are road-ready and compliant

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic

  • Experience with Scania and Volvo (highly desirable)

  • HR licence (preferred)

  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience – or a desire to take that next step

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including a rotating weekend roster

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Confidence managing team performance, including safety, quality, and compliance

  • Willingness to assist with hands-on work ( only when when required )
